Description
A ceramic candle holder cut into stepped rings, so the profile reads as a turned wooden baluster rather than a smooth column. The finish is matte and unglazed in a warm cream close to plaster, and the ridges do the work: they catch light in horizontal bands and throw a stack of soft shadows down the body once a flame is lit above them.
Three heights, drawn to be grouped. As they get taller they narrow at the top, so a run of all three steps up cleanly instead of reading as one shape scaled three times. Small and large is the pair that works. The medium is the safest alone.
Built for a standard tealight. A taper will not stand in a 7 cm cup without a fitting, so the taper images are styling.
